What are you doing to insure your clients avoid foreclosure? By: Robb Beltran, RFC

PartnershipsWhat are you doing to insure your clients avoid foreclosure? It may sound silly, but it could be as simple as making sure your clients have the right kind of insurance. I am not talking about homeowners insurance; they have to have that anyway. I am talking life and disability insurance or what you may know as mortgage protection insurance.

By offering value added services to your potential and current clients you will separate yourself from the pack.

Mortgage protection insurance puts control in your client’s hands instead o the lenders hands in instances where PMI (Principal Mortgage Insurance) is needed.

The mortgage protection insurance I’m writing about offers a different option. Essentially you pay the premiums, and your family gets the money and the right to decide what to do with it. Also, this life insurance is portable. This means if you move in a few years, you won’t have to replace your insurance. This can save you a great deal of money since insurance rates usually increase, as you get older. The best part of all is that if you don’t die or use any of the benefits, you get all your money back tax-free.

Take a look at what’s going on around you. Before the mortgage crisis what were the main reasons for foreclosure? Would you believe disability and divorce? Once a couple moves into that house all appears to be well, but once an unexpected life event happens…crisis.
What are you doing to help your clients?

I’m not saying you have to go out and get your life insurance license, but you don’t have to. A simple introduction will do. There are plenty of lucrative joint ventures that are taking place between realtors and life insurance agents. If you can’t find one, let me know and I’ll help you.
