Originally celebrated as “Armistice Day,” our current Veteran’s Day was primarily a day set aside to honor veterans of World War I. Throughout the years it was amended to become a day to honor American veterans of all wars. I urge Americans today though to celebrate it as a day to honor all veterans whether they served in war during war-time or during peace.
No matter what our reasons for serving at any point and time we were at the ready to serve and defend our great nation with and up to our own lives. That service is what many people now say, “Provides us with the security blanket American’s sleep under every night.”
I am proud to be an Air Force and Gulf War veteran and I urge all of my fellow brothers and sisters in arms to share their stories below and with everyone so that no veteran who served or is currently serving goes forgotten.
