What are some social networking sites similar to LinkedIn?
My uncle has to get a new job, and it was recommended that he join some social networking sites such as LinkedIn to gain connections and speak to others in his profession. I was asked to gather a list of these sites for him, but the only thing I can think of is LinkedIn. I know there are ones like Facebook and MySpace, but I mean more professional-geared sites. Any suggestions?

When you are setting up your profile in Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter or any of the countless other social media sites remember it is not just for you, but millions of internet users. You never know who may view it so make sure there are no typos, make sure your information is current and keep it relevant to the site. In most cases, especially if you are in business a picture is vital. It lets people know you are a real person. A person they want to do business with.
